Project Dance is starting it's 17th season in Chilliwack, BC. We provide quality instruction in a fun atmosphere. PD believes in qualified instructors and training, safety and creating memories. We have a variety of programs from toddlers to professional.
Mini Dance is a program for dancers ages 2-4 years old. With a variety of styles to chose from Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Acro and Circus.
Dancers participate in two Themed, Year End Recitals at The Chilliwack Cultural Centre in June.
Our Studios don't have viewing areas, but we do have 4 "Family Viewing" dates throughout the year. From experience, this is the best way to keep our littlest dancers focused in class.
This program is the best start to your dancers first years.
Recreational dance is a great program for those who love to move, groove and just enjoy the love of dance. It is a good into to dance, with a couple levels to chose from. There are many styles or recreational classes at Project Dance Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Acro, Lyrical, etc.
Dancers in the recreational program can take as many classes as they like, there is no limit or experience needed to join.
These dancers take part in 2 year end shows in June at The Chilliwack Cultural Centre in June.
This is our first level of our Competition Program. Dancers in this program compete 3 times throughout the season. They have a Preview Show in April and a Year End Show in June.
Dancers in this program are required to do an "audition" to be placed in the correct classes. There is more information on the "Competition/Company" section on our website, check it out.
This is our highest level of Competition at Project Dance. Dancers are required to take a mandatory set of classes and compete 4+ times a season.

Jazz dance is performance based style of dance. A technique and style that first emerged in the US in the early 20th century. Jazz is a popular choice for it's upbeat music and every changing style and dance vocabulary.
Lyrical is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance. With an emphasis on the "lyrics" of songs. Dancers in lyrical will also work hard on jazz technique in class as well.
At Project Dance we follow the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus (R.A.D) we also offer some Recreational ballet options, with performance and no exam. Ballet is a highly technical form of dance that originated during the Italian Renaissance. It is also the backbone of all dance technique and based with a vocabulary based of French terminology.
Tap is a dance style performed wearing shoes fitted with metal taps, characterized by rhythmical tapping of the heel and toe sounds. Tap is a great style for dancers who want a challenge and are very musical.
Contemporary is a genre of dance developed during the mid-twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for dancers. A strong base of ballet, goes hand and hand with Contemporary.
Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. Acro has a large stretching component as well as moves such as back bridges, handstands, cartwheels and eventually tumbling. At Project Dance we also have aerial hoops, silks, cubes and trapeze as part of our Acro classes.
Level 1 is for those with no Acro experience and Level 2 is for at least one full year of Acro or Gymnastics training.
Hip Hop refers to street dance styles primarily performed to Hip Hop music. It includes a wide range of styles like breaking, popping, old school, new school and other techniques. Hip Hop is an ever evolving style of dance.
Musical Theatre is a combination of dancing and acting (sometimes singing). It's a style of dance rooted in the diverse history of Broadway musicals. The elements of Jazz and dance technique are also explored in this class, making musical interpretation as the focus.
